This blog site is created in honor of our soldiers that have been wounded serving our country and the ride to support them. We are blessed to live in this country and to have the patriots that support and defend our way of life.

We want to help those that have sacrificed so much for our freedom. We hope that fellow Americans will help us in raising money via this ride to provide for those injured. Please go to http://americasheroes.wufoo.com/forms/ride-the-divide-for-wounded-warriors/ The form is to indicate your support for the charity Healing American Heroes. We are hoping you will donate either on a per mile basis $0.01 to $1.00 per mile or just an amount. Every penny we raise goes directly to supporting those injured, 100% of every dollar. We will update you along the way as to how we are doing via an email blast. The actual collection of your donation won't happen until after the ride in October.

The event is a bicycle ride from Canada to Mexico, about 2500 miles of off-road riding, unsupported. Starting on August 1, 2010 we will leave Roosville, MT on a bike route called "The Great Divide Ride" that sports some paved road but mostly dirt roads and single track routes. Eventually we will arrive at Antelope Wells, NM and Mexico. The map above gives an overview of the route along the Continental Divide.

John Witzel (San Diego, CA) and myself, Pete Schleider (Eden Prairie, MN), will be the guys going the entire way. Mike Weinberger (Eden Prairie, MN) is starting the ride, going for 2 weeks, then passing his equipment on to another guy take his place for another 2 weeks.

You can follow us via GPS tracking at: http://trackleaders.com/divide

Most importantly we hope to help our fellow Americans and their efforts to get on with their lives after sacrificing so much for us. Please donate what you can to help them. To learn more about the charity please go to: http://healingamericanheroes.org/.
